Farm Update

Where to start with our little farm’s update? We have come a long way in just the short month and a half we have started this amazing adventure! We got the sheep about 7 weeks ago. We had nothing ready. It was completely crazy how we had to get them. It was you pick them up tomorrow if you want them kind of thing. Since that day we have incorporated a ram, 2 ewes, 4 ducks, and 20 chickens into our farm. We are looking into piglets next and possibly another ram but we shall see. We have had so much fun making candy bars for the Farm Fundraiser, and candles. All of these products we sell here on our online Farm stand we make together. A lot of them are actually mommy and me projects! My daughter enjoys helping me make the candles. She loved helping make her own little batch of candy bars too. We are incorporating merch and she even has a hand in that and helps with everything. She is very interested in helping, even when it comes down to doing farm chores!

We were able to pick about 10 large pumpkins from out patch so far. There are many more, but they are not currently ready for picking. While we were picking pumpkins we noticed how many honeybees were working our farm! We are considering putting a hive out there for them to survive the winter. Who knows, maybe next year we will have honey too. This should be interesting as I am deathly allergic to them! However, Matt, my husband, said he would deal with the bees! It would be kind of neat to have them. In a far off corner that is, far from me! The animals are all doing well. The ewes did not get along with the ram at first but they have since accepted him into the family. The birds are growing so much bigger. They finally have all of their feathers. They are still a little too small to be 100% free range, but they are doing well at 95%. We have since put up multiple cameras around the pasture and the barn due to predators. So far, we have been lucky and lock our animals up prior to the coyotes howling. Now we have cameras to keep an eye on everyone since bear season is here.

In other news we have tons of neat ideas and cool surprises coming on the market and to the farm. You can follow a lot of our kooky happenings on our Facebook page and on Tiktok. We are currently on Instagram now too. We try to keep up with everything but we definitely stay busy with the far, work, family, friends, and everything life throws at us. We may have a contest coming up soon regarding naming the new ram or the new piglets. You will have to stay tuned to find out what that is all about! Now that Fall is here which means Halloween is fast approaching, it will be time to have all sorts of seasonal fun! That also means Christmas and winter are soon around the corner. Stay tuned to see all the fun seasonal ideas we have and the unique things we bring to the table!

Until then, au revoir and remember you can do anything, you can be anything. Put it to good use!

Lots of Love,
